Ace to Five Rules In Ace to Five lowball, the best hand is the lowest hand. Straights and Flushes don't count, but pairs and three or four of a kind do (including Full Houses). Aces are the lowest card. So, the best possible hand is A-2-3-4-5. In High-Low games (Seven Card Stud High-Low and Omaha High-Low) the game is played with "Eight or better" rules. This means that in order to qualify for the low hand portion of the pot, you must have five different cards that are no higher than an 8. Example: 4-5-6-7-8 is a qualifying hand, but A-A-2-3-4 and 2-3-4-5-9 are not. |
